I've always loved Frankenstein by Edgar Winter and wanted to see the massive 17 minute version on this live concert. It didn't disappoint, but the rest of the concert is a bit too self-indulgent for most tastes. Edgar and his band are clearly extremely talented musicians - each member gets their own 'slot' for what appears to be a never-ending solo (lead guitar, drums, bass and Edgar himself on keyboards) and very accomplished these 'turns' are. But you're left with a feeling you would have liked more band numbers (there are only about 10 tracks) as when they play together they really rock. A bit funky, a bit jazzy, a bit rocky...it covers all genres and is worth a watch, but I don't think it will stand repeated viewing.
