I love this film. it is the first Tim Burton / Johnny Depp film and it definetly starts the trend of excellence. This film will break your heart and yet is still hilarious.

  • Not your usual film but one of Depp and Burton's standard

Its a bit weird, didn't get it personally probably one of those films that get a cult following. Not bad though, definitely watched films that are alot worse

Beautiful, Gothic, heartwarming and simply superb. Makes you laugh, makes you cry. I really cannot fault this film in anyway. Tim Burton was always my favourite director but his recent movies are awful. I wish he could make movies like this again.

this film is one of them well weird films, that is just really enjoyable.

Depp proves that he can adapt himself to any role he's in

  • Not the classic I was expecting

After hearing so many glorious reviews of this movie, I expected something special. I'm a movie fanatic and I really tried to fall in love with this, but sadly it never really happened for me. It is good and I did enjoy it, but if I'm honest I can't really see what all the fuss is about. It's certainly original and wins points there and the music was wonderful (I could listen to it all day) and created some brilliant atmospheric moments, but there really wasn't enough to it for my liking and almost completely lacked any real plot. And I'm guessing I'm in the minority with this, but I found the scissorhands a bit unpleasant. I kept sitting there watching these lethal blades flashing around people faces etc. and it just made me uncomfortable. Big woose I know. I wish this movie had charmed me like most other people, but it didn't unfortunately and I was disappointed.
