When extremely disgruntled small-town guy Davey Stone (voiced by Sandler) faces another holiday season in his New England hometown, he does what he always has - he screws up big and lands in jail. Davey's old basketball referee, Whitey, bails him out with the bright idea of putting Davey to work doing community service. But .. Read more

Festive cartoon fun gets an adult flavour in this ill-conceived musical comedy. An inane combination of bad-taste humour, flat animation and puerile songs, it's little more than a crude vanity project for Adam Sandler. Co-writer/producer Sandler also voices the film's central characters — law-breaking, party animal Davey Stone; eccentric youth-basketball referee Whitey, and Whitey's wig-wearing twin Eleanore. Escaping a yuletide prison sentence, Davey gets one last shot at redemption by performing community service as Whitey's assistant. What follows is a boorish Christmas Carol, as Davey is reminded of the sentiments of the holiday season. Had as much attention been paid to innovation as vulgarity, then perhaps this tale would actually have been as hilarious as Sandler and company wanted it to be. Instead, it's merely a torrent of scatological gags and juvenile sexual innuendo.
"...Lively, bittersweet....[The film] works well and is sure to connect strongly with fans of Sandler at his most free-wheeling and uninhibited..."
"...As in Sandler's breakthrough film, THE WEDDING SINGER there's a certain nostalgia here for 1980s popular culture..."
Fans of Adam Sandler movies will see a significant down side to his usual style of comedy.
Not at all up to his usual standard.
The change started with Anger Management, but that was hilarious compared to this.
I defy anybody not to get really wound up with the stupid character/voice of his pal whitey.
I really enjoyed this film and it definitly had Sandlers humour but I kind of felt as if I was watching a movie that someone would show to people in rehab. Glad I saw it though.
This is the funniest cartoon that I have ever seen and I highly recommend anyone with a sense of humour sees this.
The story is based around Christmas and might be a little predictable. However it's the little extra jokes and songs that had 3 grown adults in actual fits for hours after.
I could watch it again and again!
being big time sandler fans in our house i was slightly dubious when i realised this film was an animation but was suitably impressed.
The usual cast and crew associated with sandler all having voice parts even if just one or 2 liners they were easily distinguished- even as far as some animated characters resembling their voice actor.
definately an unusual spin on the christmas feel good but one i've recommended to friends and family- both sandler fans and those who have never watched his work before.
how good is this film? its so funny i dont know how it gets away with being a 12 when theres a fair few swear words in it but im not complaining!adam sandler what a guy hes so funny in this film. youve gotta watch this film!

A really good fun cartoon, that implements a lot of the zany traits Adam Sandler brings to a movie. If you're into cartoons, Adam Sandler or you're just a silly boy. This is worth a rental.

I can't see why others have praised this film so highly. Ok so I'm not a fan of Adam Sadler but even so this is the worst load of tosh I've ever had the misfortune to rent. I'ts too cynical for a Kid's film and too childish for an Adult. Avoid at all costs.
Just as funny as the other Adam Sandler films. I'm glad I didn't listen to the people who said it was 'not bad'. It's brilliant so don't miss it!
This film had me bowling over with laughter! Completed my 5 Star list, My DVD player was purring with happiness after playing this movie.
This movie could only work as an animation, so they made all of the right decisions.
Perfect!
OK I only managed to watch the first hour of the movie because I couldn't bear to be put through the rest! An adult animated musical sounds interesting, wrong! The movie tries too hard to be different from other cartoons and uses bad language, vulgarity and bad humour to shock the viewer. I just found this movie tacky and the characters extremely annoying and from what my family told me, I didn't miss much in the rest of the film either.
A really good funny cartoon, If you're into cartoons, Adam Sandler or you're just a silly boy. This is worth a rental. So rent
