not seen this film for years but i did own it once on video and i forget how many times i watched it. it may look a little dated now but this is a little gem of a film great acting from everyone,loved the one on one chat scenes with bridges and garcia enjoyin an ice cone, they bring the tension to the movie,i love it, in fact sod it im goin to buy it. 5 stars- Was this review helpful to you?

Jeff Bridges fans will like it as he always turns in a worhwhile performance but for the rest of us it may just be a curiosity.- Was this review helpful to you?

Stone Solid Script
By zorilla (222 reviews) from Kew, Richmond , 09 Oct 2011A great LA film with all the best elements of noir and some razor sharp dialog from an early Oliver Stone screenplay that has all the signs of the gretaness that wa to come.
Jeff Bridges turns in his usual superlative performance - his character may be called Matt Scudder, but for all intents and purposes he's playing an 80's Philip Marlowe - and although Rosanna Arquette seems to have wandered in from another movie, she always delightful to watch, and its fun to see Andy Garcia play such a bad baddie.
To 21st century ears, the 80's synth soundtrack sounds horribly jarring, but that's what we had to listen to back in the day.- Was this review helpful to you?
