Earhart plane hijacked en-route to film set

The vintage plane director Mira Nair used as Amelia Earhart's craft in biopic Amelia was hi-jacked en-route to the South African film shoot. The filmmaker threatened to give up food during the shoot if producers couldn't find her one of the actual Lockheed Elektras the famous aviator flew - but she had no idea it would be such a saga to get the plane from the south of France to the location in Cape Town. Garner embarks on first Save the Children outing

Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner turned storyteller on Tuesday (05May09), reading to kids in Washington, D.C. in her first official act as an ambassador for Save the Children. The Elektra star, who was recently appointed to the charity role, sat down with a group of school children at the Rosemount Center to read Is Your Mama a Llama? Garner was in the city to lobby the U.S. government for an extra £1.3 billion in funding for early childhood education, reports People.com. Read more

The lead villain of the new Marvel comic adaptation, "Elektra", has been cast. The "Daredevil" spin-off will see Will Yun Lee as the baddy determined to wreak havoc and destruction on the world. Lee, who previously donned the baddy's snarl as the gene-altering Colonel Moon in "Die Another Day", has apparently been announced to play Kirigi. While rumours abound regarding the next James Bond film, one more was added to the mix on Thursday after a Croatian newspaper said that ER star Goran Visnjic could play the movie's villain.
