Elena Undone

Most people talk of 'love' or 'true love' when watching this film,but all I see is selfishness.

This film tries to seduce the viewer into believing that the main character 'Elena' is still searching for her 'soulmate',when in reality she is happily married with a husband that adores her(though is pictured to some degree as the bad guy keeping her away from her soulmate),along with a loving family.

All too often we see films which try to break up the family home,and applaud adulteress affairs.

Yes,this is only a movie,but films like this help mould the future generations thought patterns,and not for the better I might add.

It was an enjoyable film,let down only by suggesting to the audience that life 'can' be much greener on the other side of the fence(which almost always isn't).

Since gay/lesbian dramas are had to come by, I thought I'd give this one a chance despite the poor rating (I've learnt that 3 out of 5 stars is a bad thing when the public vote) and mixed reviews. Partner and I settled down for a movie night, popped in the DVD and were lambasted with soppy, badly acted & edited, unashamedly lazy trash! I could act better than the cast (that's saying a lot) and the editing looks like someone pasting together a YouTube video! Come on lesbian-film-makers-excluding-Ilene-Chaiken! Show us your stuff!!!

More than pleasantly surprised,

Its not a quick moving film but thats what makes it realistic and in actual fact it perfectly mirrored my experiences in my early twenties to a tee!! Definitely worth a watch.

I love this film I can forgive Nicole Conn for Claire of the moon which I hated back in the day. This film is about falling in love it hit the spot for me on a rainy day when I was looking for something to watch. I love the beginning the middle and the end so looking forward to Ms Conn new film which 'A Perfect Ending' which I have seen a clip to and it curl my toes. Elena Undone has got the record for the longest kiss its a great film!

OK there is an element of this film which is a bit hokey, but if you are in the right mood, and this film can put you in that right mood, it is a lovely pean to love generally, not just lesbian love, but all love.

There is great chemistry between these beautiful women, which I admit does make you wonder (!) but the gradual realisation of one woman who falls in love with a gay woman, coming to terms with that - somewhat joyously I have to say, does ring true - it happened to me so I know !

There are romantic films for heterosexuals that have massive appeal, because at the end of the day, we do like a great romantic movie with a happy ending, and so I think this will fall into that cannon for gay women, like Imagine me and You, and Desert Hearts.

If you are tired of cynical, exploitative films about pscho lesbians, wierd lesbians, or doomed lesbians, this will be the antidote. A simple film about love, between women. Somewhat hot too I have to say. :)
