Reading the blurb, this sounded like an intriguing premise.
The first couple of episodes worked well and I thought I might finally have found an original series that was taking time to develope the characters - always a plus point in my view.
However, the latter half of this volume degenerated into the kind of cheap tacky anime that gives the rest of the genre a bad name. The character developement seemed to reach a dead end, as did the plot.
The animation looks great, though, with superbly drawn locations. It's just such a shame that the other factors don't match up.
I'm curious enough to watch the next volume, but I'm not holding my breath...
