I had never seen this film before. I have loved the other films set in Venice - Don't Look Now and Wings of Desire - so I was looking forward to this.
I never got to the end. Two hours of beautifully shot boredom. Composer is dying slowly. Composer looks at teenage boy. That is the sum total of what happens. Take my tip and watch wallpaper dry instead.
