Ella Shines, Basie Swings

If you like Ella, this must be one of her best recorded performances ever.

Not just as a singer but as a consummate musician in complete command of the music and playing delightful games with the tunes, the words and the harmonies.

Basie the man is hardly here but his band is - and how. Swinging as only they know how.

We (my wife and I) liked it so much we bought the disk and are now in danger of wearing it out.

Absolute bliss for those who appreciate fine jazz, fine entertainment and sheer mastery of both.

We can't recommend it highly enough.
