Fantastic Ella

From the Montreux Jazz Festival so the material is more jazzy and soulful than pop. Ella is in great form, her control and tone being incredible. And some great scat routines thrown in for good measure. Count Basie is conspicious by his absence, I only noticed him on one track but his orchestra was magnificient throughout. A great DVD for all true jazz fans, well worth a look.
