Joel Zwick follows the massive success 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' with this quirky comedy about a woman plagued by an Elvis curse. Harmony (Kim Basinger) had an encounter early in life with the young Elvis, and can't seem to shake his influence. Now a Pink Lady selling cosmetics door-to-door, she seems to inadvertently bring harm to any Elvis impersonators she encounters. After a bizarre car accident leaves a slew of them dead, Harmony goes on the run from the authorities, hooking up with a downtrodden ad exec (John Corbett, 'Sex & The City', 'Raising Helen') who has Elvis troubles of his own. The excellent cast also features Annie Potts ('Designing Women', 'Ghostbusters' 1 & 2), Sean Astin ('Lord Of The Rings Trilogy'), Denise Richards ('Scary Movie 3'), Angie Dickinson ('Sabrina'), and Billy Ray Cyrus ('Mulholland Drive').

A bit of a strange film, to say the least. The plot and characters could certainly have done with a bit of fleshing out and, although there are some genuinely funny scenes, the film isnt what could be described as hilarious.
The film takes a firm swipe at all those thousands of incredibly awful Elvis impersonators out there, basically saying that just because you put on a garish, ill-fitting jumpsuit and an over-the-top black pompadour wig, it doesnt make you look or sound anything like the real Elvis Presley.
Perhaps the script seemed a good idea on paper, but lost something along the way when transferred to celluloid, which is a real pity.
Enjoyed the film. Made the ironing less of a chore.
