Enchanted Arms

The ps3 version of this xbox 360 game hasn't taken advantage of Blu-ray's storage, so this decent RPG still isn't fully voiced. Shame. The plot involves three friends who inadvertently free an ancient ice queen and start the apocalypse. Whoops. To stop the end of the world, you can synthesise new beasts to fight alongside you in traditional grid-based battles. It's very camp and pretty, but full of last-gen traits like stationary non-player characters and invisible walls. But it provides some fun, especially when you shake that sixaxis to replenish your power gauge- which makes your character do a little dance, complete with disco lights. I did say it was camp.- Was this review helpful to you?

(19)Dull Game
By mememem (3 reviews) , 21 Nov 2012Could of been an amazing game, but the main characters are just soo annoying , well the voice acting is anyway. The story never really gripped me And I found I just couldnt care less if they all died in the end.- Was this review helpful to you?

Boring uninspired infinite random battle with generic but decent story
By Williamflipper (11 reviews) from London , 25 Jul 2012Lack of creativity and ideas, lifeless environment but good dialogue between party members, the fighting mechanics are generic but ok, the infinite amount of respawning random battles make this game extremely tedious, even THE OPTION OF AUTOMATIC BATTLE is not going to save you from the ridiculous amount of wasted time in wich you could play a better game on PS2, PS1, PS3, PC, XBOX ......- Was this review helpful to you?

Don't like it
By a customer , 17 Feb 2012If I recall correctly...
This game is not worth renting for two main reasons:
1. It gets very annoying very quickly. What I mean by this is, you can barely take three steps in any direction without encountering something. This makes the game long and tedious. (You can't just avoid the encounters, as they are invisible until you are attacked. It then goes onto a 'combat mode' similiar to those antique game boy colour games.)
2. The combat system is strange. I have played the game for at least 2 hours and still haven't worked out how you get someone to attack something. Luckily, there is a feature included that makes all of your party attack automatically. Boring, but gets the job done.
The only good thing about the game is the storyline. I cannot really give any more detail without giving it away, but it is very well thought out and would be very popular if it were made as a film. The graphics are picturesque, and that is the only thing besides the storyline which stops me from giving a half star.
In a word: Dull. Don't waste your time.- Was this review helpful to you?

Definately worth playing.
By Tektile (1 review) , 22 Apr 2011This is one of those rare gems where the 360 version is miles better.
Firstly, the 360's storage enables full play of the game without having to load before a battle, (It's only for a second or two, but it gets tedious),
Secondly, the 360 version has achievments, (Not that I play games just for Trophies/Achievments, however already finishing this game on the 360 made sitting through it all again pointless)
Finally, The PS3 version of this game does not have full voiced chat, so there are random intervals where people stop actually talking, and you have to read the text instead. (Doesn't really effect the game, but it would be nice to have continuity.)
However, that is not to say this game is a waste of time. It's a tremendously fun RPG, with easily over 100 different playable characters, thousands of different skills, and amazing graphics to boot, with a fantastic storyline. Do not let the first hour or so of the game put you off, once the game gets going it's more of a game than just going to and fro places.
Oh yeah, and the R1 Dance thing is a fantastic addition, bizarre and hilarious. At least something has been added to the PS3 that wasn't on the 360 <3- Was this review helpful to you?

Not for Rental
By Leviz042 (69 reviews) from Houghton Regis , 25 Feb 2010Ideally you want to Buy this game , like most RPG's this will take you a while to complete and as this game is now quite old you can pick it up in a bargain basket for next to nothing.
this also does not have Trophy Support.- Was this review helpful to you?
