Nothing special here but an OK way to pass an hour or so. No surprises really. I see some dope has again been surprised that a non english film has subtitles. Damn those foreign Johnnies for not speaking the Queen's English. It tells you at the top if it's a foreign film so chances are it will have subtitles. Jeez.

  • Bored in Japan.

Normally I love Japanese horror movies, Ringu, Noroi The Curse, Audition, love them.

But this one is the most boring J-horror I have ever seen. I just couldn't get interested, and I was really trying.

Slow, dull, devoid of shocks or thrills, or even suspense.

I couldn't finish it and gave up after an hour, because I just couldn't bring myself to care.

As a side-note, Japanese schoolgirls seem much more prone to self-blame than British or American schoolgirls.

  • Another passible, non-scary Ring clone.

    Rated - 2.5 stars
By MrStrange (46 reviews) from Isle Of Wight , 24 Apr 2012
Slow, messy time jumping and one good scare (at the very beginning) pretty much sum up this low-budget Ring clone. It's not bad, just ok.

Even hardcore fans of Asian horror might not be able to stifle a few yawns while watching.

The story is solid enough, but the endless jumping between past, even further past and present becomes irritating, especially as it doesn't benefit the film, it seems more like a failed attempt at clever filmmaking than anything else. The film would have been far more engrossing if events happened in order, or if the script had been tightened up to make the time jumping more coherent.

The slow pace of the film and lack of almost anything scary also don't help matters, but the film still just about manages to be watchable.

Hard to fully recommend, but it might pass an hour or so if you like Asian horror.

  • beware of your mobile

You can call devil and get your wish granted in return for the length of your call being subtracted from the length of your life. However, devil has ways to make your mobile functional so that your call doesn't end when you want to end it and you end up with massive bill that can and does change your life again. Confusing ending. Ring that number, get your wish, and then... you can be devil.
