Above average effort from a once-popular genre
By roncoach (365 reviews) from suffolk , 20 Oct 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
Not a bad attempt at the supernatural thriller genre that was once so popular but sadly went out of fashion somewhat.
The same or similar type of storyline has been done many times, peaking with 'The Omen ' .......but many other good ones.
But Arnie's effort here is just above the average. It keeps the viewer fixed to the plot and action......and you wish to know the outcome. Interest never wanes much .....and that's a good indicator of a better-than-average film.
OK, it'll never make the Best Films Ever (LOL) ------far, far from it. But , especially for those who like this genre, this is recommended as being a bit better than average.- Was this review helpful to you?

(30)not a bad film at all
By cheesekake (1283 reviews) from uk , 26 May 2012found this film a little predictable (I guessed who the mysterious man was before he revealed himself), otherwise its a good good vs evil thing.
arnie went on to be a little silly in some of his films but in this one he was still kicking it- Was this review helpful to you?

Still LOVE THIS!!
By a customer , 28 Dec 2011Arnie had not done anything for a while when he did this but boy what a return to form and also released on the cusp of 1999/2000 which added to the then current social debate of humanitys finiteness.- Was this review helpful to you?

Arnie meets Satan?
By Duberyflip (10 reviews) , 24 Dec 2011Now I normally associate Arnold movies with naff one liners and gratuitous violence scenes but this movie offered a good bit more. Yes, I totally agree it was like The Omen on steroids but really well delivered. It was good to see Arnie playing a part I thought a bit out of character for him and in a movie on a more dark level. No comedy elements here guys. Pure evil - sort of Da Vinci code crossed with The Terminator. Fair enough neither were great movies but the synergy of the two styles works really well. Arnie will never be a John Guilgud but he plays his part well in this. All in all a bit of an entertainment packed watcher. Dont think viewers will be disappointed unless just not having a good day....- Was this review helpful to you?
