It's December 2004 and i have at last seen a film i can truly rave about.

Came straight back from the cinema and cam on here to review if for you lovely people! Sad? I hope not!

Gripping and moving. Keeps you there the whole way through. Brilliantly acted. Thank you Roger Michell.

P.S: Don't leave the cinema too hastily - there's a bit during the credits!

Great film with an interesting story & some really intense acting scenes. All the actors in this are fantastic, particularly Rhys Ifans & Daniel Craig who is an actor's actor, not just a movie star. The way he conveys emotion in this film is educational for any one interested in acting. In my opinion the only people who would give this film a low rating are the ones who only like mainstream films that are packed with action and special effects.

Incidentally I noticed Ben Whishaw is in it and I'd only recently read that he's to star as Q in the upcoming James Bond picture.

I like the actors in ths film, and they do well. however the story and direction are awful. NOt nearly as good as the book. they changed a lot. Why would you do that when you have a best selling book???

What a gratifyingly bewildering film, it’s one of those slow quiet movies, you are tense throughout and you are never confident as to why. Is Daniel Craig’s character crazy? Is Rhys Ifans character crazy? Yes Rhys he’s crazy, no hang on its Daniel, don’t let Daniel hold that baby Bill Nighy! Is Rhys Ifans character even there? Is he a figment of Daniel Craig’s imagination? Well-acted well written well cast. I do like a bit of Samantha Morton, Bill Nighy sort of phones it in, but this is not something to concern ourselves with; because as we know the phone that Bill Nighy uses is the latest iPad underwater flying concept phone, ergo anything said into it rocks. Daniel Craig is doing his best (You will take me seriously as an actor! I’m wearing spectacles, and will not be taking my shirt off! Yet my shirt will still be so tight you will be able to outline my nipples and the downy blonde hairs that surround them!) My popcorn nearly came up in the penultimate scene of the movie; I don’t wish to spoil it for anyone, but Daniel and Rhys, yucky yackety yack! It’s so wrong on so many levels. Great film, get it watched.

Dull film started off OK with the balloon and looked to be a good film, but it went down hill from there and didn't get any better.

I am a massive Daniel Craig fan which made me stick with this film, story was slow to get going but became more interesting when Rhys Ifans character became more involved. Movie was okay but you would have to be a avid fan to appreciate this film.
