The twisted minds of two of the six writers of "Scary Movie" tackle the biggest mega-blockbusters of all time in Epic Movie. The story centres on four not-so-young orphans: one raised by a curator at the Louvre (where an albino assassin lurks), another a refugee from Mexican "libre" wrestling, the third a recent victim of .. Awful !!

Possibly the worst film I have ever seen, Takes the spoof genre to a whole new low. Scenes are very random and most appear irrelevant to the story, the jokes are so poor the barely raise a smile. If you are a fan of spoofs, watch naked gun or the first couple of scary movies again because after viewing this you may well feel robbed!

    Worst Film Ever

I am a real lover of film and go to see numerous films every month at the cinema. However this is the only film i have ever walked out of. It is simply that bad. I managed to last only 40 mins of the worst jokes i have ever heard. Don'y be fooled by the trailer as these are the only slightly funny gags in the whole film. Each gag is predictable and could easily have been written by a small child. Please don't waste 90 mins of your life on this truly awful film.

I didn't think this was too bad, it pulled apart every film from Pirates, to Narnia to Nacho Libre, and was quite funny at times, though the humour was in the main part very juvenile. Would I recommend it,... mmm well I don't think as a film it will have too great a shelf life, it will get tired pretty quick, and the humour might be okay if you have just finished high school and have downed a blue WKD. so maybee not.

    Epic pile of trash

One of the worst films ever made, epic pile of crammed in crap...they threw everything including the sink which had not been bleached in 20 years, watch a turd being flushed far more enjoyable!!!!

    Most abhorrent film ever

Oh dear, what a waste of time. This is the most saddest, abhorrent film I have attempted to watch. If you value every minute of your life then skip this, do something more worthwhile like clean the toilet bowl or scrape the fat off the grill pan. This is just a vessel for tired jokes about sex etc . Get a life!

    Shortcut to mild amusement

Just watch the trailer and get the best gags and save yourself the time of watching the movie. And the trailer gags are not that good...

I watched this so you don't have to!

Being bludgeoned to death with a plank of wood. Having the flesh flayed from your torso. Both of these things are preferable to ever sitting through this film again! This has to go down as one of the worst films ever committed to celluloid! Where to begin with a review of such a diabolical disaster of a movie (oh no…just had a flash… the next one will be called Disaster Movie…probably!)

From some of the people responsible for the Scary Movie / Date Movie films comes this ‘attempt’ at mocking the big ‘Epic’ summertime blockbusters, you know like Nacho Libre (small indie film), Borat (indie, and far from Epic), Narnia, Superman, X-Men, Pirates, blah blah blah. The ‘story’ centres around 4 orphans who come together after winning Golden Tickets, and end up entering the realm of Gnarnia. Throw in attempts at parody of various hip-hop tracks, and too many films, and there you have the formula for a film that only a brain-dead moron will love!

I would love to be able to pinpoint what is so wrong in this film, but I can’t. It isn’t that they have crammed too many references to other movies / events / records in, as each joke goes on too long. It isn’t the terrible cast who seem to be trying their best to remember their lines (what little lines they have). It isn’t even the fact that all the jokes seem old and dated (even the new ones are predictable). Nor is it the US specific references that are lost on a European audience. No one of these things is the fault… it is all of these things and more which are to blame.

Such a poorly conceived mess of a script must have took a deal of skill to craft! Seriously, you couldn’t be this bad if you tried. Even Donald Kaufman’s serial killer is the cop is the victim idea in Adaptation is a better thought out script than this (and if you haven’t seen that film, then go rent it).

Five minutes into the film, once I had already been subjected to a terrible Da Vinci ‘albino’ attack, and the cringeworthy Nacho Libre skit (heck, even Nacho Libre wasn’t funny!), I was sat in shock at how bad the film was. Why stay to watch the rest? Simply to see if it could get any worse….

    …It could!

Once the film shifts to Gnarnia it went from bad to atrocious! It was almost as if the crew had simply given up – except that would hint that they had a decent try in the first place!

Perhaps I am being a tad harsh – there was one moment when it almost made me smile. That was when the Captain Jack Swallows character swaggered in. The mimicry of Depp was spot on…shame that the material he was working with was turgid!

Flahsbacks of scenes keep coming back to me like horrific visions of decomposing soldiers in a battlefield. X-Men skits which sucked totally….cringeworthy Willy Wonka parodies….. garbage through and through.

This film has now dug deep into the darkest reaches of my psyche, and I will awaken each night in a cold sweat as memories of the experience come back to haunt me. For the sake of your own sanity, and peace of mind, never ever watch this film! I mean it…NEVER!

    Awful

I was dragged by my two sons 11 & 7 to see this, they found it mildly amusing but I think that about sums it up, if you are above that age don't bother. Unfortunately the pointless sex references and bad language also make it not a good idea for young children so i don't know where this is aimed.

    please don't bother!

My husband and I managed less than half an hour before we had to turn this off! It was just terrible! They did seem to spend a reasonable amount of money to produce this rubbish and that makes it all the more worrying. I don't know anyone who would enjoy this movie as most of the laughs are to be had by 3 year olds and the amount of swearing would rule them out! Don't rent this, really, don't! My husband loved all the scary movie films and even got a few laughs from date movie but this gave us nothing except maybe the urge to self harm, just don't waste a second of your precious life on this! I read reviews before renting but still decided to give it a go, how I wish I had listened and not bothered!!

    Don't do it

Went to the pictures tonight to watch this and my goodness I want a refund. I quite liked the Scary Movie franchise but this film is a pile of tripe, I can't understand why Kal Penn and Jennifer Coolidge would agree to star in a film like this.

The jokes were awful, the film although short seemed to drag on and on. If you're looking for a fun entertaining night out then don't waste your money on this, you've been warned..

    A Poor Imitation

Spoof films like this are nothing new, them being unfunny is. If you were brought up on funny spoof like Airplane 1 & 2 or the Naked gun films then this will be a serious disappointment. I`d advise the writers to watch Shaun of the dead and Hot Fuzz, just to see that parodies can still be funny.

    Don't bother

These movies are usually hit or miss...this one is definately a miss. Do not waste your time. The parodies are not clever, not funny, not worth watching. Not even worth 1 star.
