[Highly rated reviewer]The plot here is a fairly standard one; stranger intrudes on a family mission/holiday/whatever; seems nice but turns out to be a nasty criminal type; gets rid of daddy who is believed to be dead, leaving women and children to battle valiantly but ultimately in vain; only for daddy to return thanks to some heroic/ingenious act and save the day.
Reminded me of 1994's 'The River Wild' which I'd say is a far superior film.
The sci-fi element is little more than a setting for the plot. That could be said of a number of great sci-fi movies such as 'Alien', which is more of a Horror movie in space than a sci-fi movie. This is meant to be a psychological thriller in space.
It's watchable if you like that sort of thing, but I'd say it's instantly forgettable.

a tad predictableBy jonny (210 reviews) from Norwich , 08 Oct 2012A tad predictable. Reasonable plot, average acting, but fairly well paced. Could have been rather better, perhaps if it had been aimed at a higher certificate it might have been so
Customer ReviewBy a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008Probably the worst film I have ever seen. Actualy that is an unfair statement as I didn't see the end. I cannot remember abandoning a film part way through. The acting is sooo wooden, the sets are laughable and the plot is so so thin.
My advice - use your time more wisely - watch paint dry.
Customer ReviewBy a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008All the clichés can be found here, a simple film for the simple. Best viewed with the remote in your hand so you can wind though the long walking down corridors shots, they are trying to built tension, but when you know what is going to happen next, it doesn't work. The characters are just so predictable, so if you don't like to think too much this is the film for you.
Oh the crapnessBy Martin Holmes from Maidstone , 17 Jan 2008Its not good to watch. I gave up very early, but not before I concluded that it was crap. Why was it made? Why did the makers not stop after the five minutes of shooting? Why did it not stop when someone read the script?
Science Fiction meets Silence of the lambBy SpaceDog from Worksop, England, Earth , 01 May 2006This is a very entertaining Sci-Fi movie with a touch of Charles Manson and Silence of the lamb.
An escaped milatary prisoner who is convicted of slaughtering a whole town is condemed to die. Jailbreak from a maximum security prison sends 6 into space and excape from prison.
16 years later, the ship is found by a family of 3 who are studying a star about to go supernova. The convict makes an interesting story and is thought to be a lone survivor when the captain of the research vesel finds out the truth.... and the story gets very interesting.
