Blockbuster comedy director Tom Shadyac (The Nutty Professor, Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty) returns behind the camera for this next episode of divine intervention. This time, however, his cast grows two-by-two.
Newly elected to Congress, Evan leaves Buffalo behind and shepherds his family to suburban northern Virginia. Once there, his life gets turned upside-down when God (Morgan Freeman) appears and mysteriously commands him to build an ark. But his befuddled family just can't decide whether Evan is having an extraordinary mid-life crisis or is truly onto something of Biblical proportions...

One of the funniest films I have seen in a long time. I went to see it twice and we all just never stopped laughing even on the way home. It makes me smile to even think about it. I cant wait for the DVD so I can see it again. The animals are amazing the effects at the end gripping. A must for all the family.
You will find yourself comparing this to 'Bruce Almighty' and unfortunately this is not a patch on it. The acting is mediocre and the plot a bit tedious. Its reasonable but very forgetable.
Fans of Steve Carell might be excited to hear there is a new teaser available to watch for his forthcoming movie, Evan Almighty. The film is a sequel to 2003's Jim Carrey vehicle Bruce Almighty and sees Carell as news reader-turned-congressman Evan Baxter, who is instructed by God - played by Morgan Freeman - to build an ark.
