    Grim waste of time

Saw this because it had Uma Thurman in it. How did she get trapped in this rubbish? Improbable and unnecessary premise leading her into a pretty stock 'rebels against the world' encampment. Difficult to see a redeeming performance or plot line in the whole thing.

Ha ha ho ho and hee hee

Based one of the greatest novels of the twentieth century (by Tom Robbins), this proves that great books are sometimes made into very, very bad movies. The film is completely devoid of the magic of the novel, and the acting is spectacularly bad (particularly the woefully miscast Rain Pheonix). Avoid

    Just terrible

Not funny, not interesting, not good looking. Very disappointing from the same director that made Drugstore Cowboy and My Own Private Idaho. A bad year for him?!

    didn't enjoy it!

I'm afraid to say even with the lovely Uma it was slow and I didn't get into the film at all, its a thumbs down from me

    Make It Stop.

A strong candidate for the worst film ever made. Incoherent, pretentious, self regarding. I don't understand why it took me so long to make the connection between Gus Van Zandt, and a series of very, very bad films that he coincidentally directed.

I'd rather lose one of my toes than watch this one again.
