Documentary by the director did the film Etre et Avoir (about the small french village nursery/primary school). This was a good gentle watch about a French mental health institution set in delighful countryside and records the residents and staff putting on their annual play. This year (film was made in about '98?) they did a fairly surrealist (20th century?) musical (the nonsense of the dialogue and lyrics were described as comforting by one player - so perhaps it's stressful having to fit in with the insane/sane 'real world'?
Watching the documentary fitted a bit of a day off quite well and was thought provoking without being too PC. It did not make me go 'wow' afterwards like Etre et Avoir, but I'd recommend it.
