A strong, highly experienced TV-movie cast here re-enacts the true story of a Texas toddler who plunged into a disused well. Though the ensuing nail-biting rescue attempt created world headlines, it has to be said that this is not a complicated tale and the ending is never in doubt from scene one. But, given those limitations, screenplay writer David Eyre Jr does a very fine job of engaging our interest and holding it fast until the thankfully robust finale, which makes the 999 TV series look like a pre-school game of doctors and nurses.
