Drew Barrymore and Eddie Murphy have been named and shamed as the most overpaid actors in Hollywood. The Forbes.com poll suggests Barrymore's recent movies have generated a return of just £0.25 for every £0.63 she is paid by film studio bosses, thanks to box office flops Whip It, Everybody's Fine and last year's (10) Going The Distance, which earned a paltry £11.13 million in U.S. ticket sales. Sir Paul McCartney found writing a song for Robert De Niro's new movie Everybody's Fine a therapeutic experience, but the storyline mimicked aspects of his own life. De Niro plays a widower attempting to reconnect with his offspring at Christmas time. Tyler Perry's gritty new drama Precious: Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire has landed double honours at the annual Hollywood Awards. Originally scheduled to open in the US at the end of last year, the release of Martin Scorsese’s gothic thriller was pushed back to February by Paramount Pictures, taking the movie out of Oscar consideration.
