Ray of sunshine........sorry! ;-)By JediSi (301 reviews) from Kent , 23 Aug 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]I'm glad I didn't read up on this movie before I rented it, otherwise I probably would have passed. Apparently made on a budget of less than 50K and completed in 9 days doesn't really make you feel it's had much effort put into it all and therefore shouldn't warrant a viewing. Ray Winstone allegedly done this for free because he liked the script so much.
Theres not a lot to say about this film with regards to the plot that hasnt already in the synopsis without ruining it. One thing I would say is it is extremely well acted with two very strong and captivating lead roles (Ray Winstone, Jan Graveson). Gritty in places and all in all a very good film which deserves to be seen by anyone who likes a drama with some substance behind it. Its an incredibly intense piece of work that really works well, surprisingly well.

EnjoyableBy a customer from Mexborough , 17 Jul 2008Despite most of the film takes place in one room the acting ability of the main characters keep your interest.
Eventhough I guessed the end I enjoyed this film alot.
Customer ReviewBy a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008I found this film utterly gripping. I agree that nothing much happens, but the whole point is to watch the charcters unfold as they interact with each other, and the two stars are both fantastic. Whilst I guessed the Winestone character's motives fairly early on, I felt complelled to watch the story work itself out. The camera work and photography are also spot and make for rich visuals. the subject matter may be dark but it is well dealt with, and if the script is a little cluncky it fits the ill-ease of the characters.Basically, if you like character and diologue films, try this out, and if you want Winestone hard-man action steer clear.
SlowwwwBy SkinHeadDeano (78 reviews) from Beds, England , 21 Nov 2007This film is a tad too slow to keep the viewer fully focused i think. I stuck with it, and although it has a reasonably emotional ending, it's just not really worth sitting through!
You can't knock Ray's performance, he shines no matter how sh*te the film is...but trust me, he's been in far better films! In fact, it's a shame the film doesn't grip you a bit more because everyone in it plays their characters very well.
