Just pure torture.. I was bored, bored, bored! It actually gave me the biggest headache! Just don't even waste your time! I thought the trailer was great! All it did was drag and the action was over and done with within seconds!

  • A superb "found footage" chiller - not for gore fans.

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Another great 'found footage' film for those who prefer to empathise with characters in scary situations rather than watch people be horribly killed in 'inventive' ways, (the latter presumably being what those reviewers who labelled this 'boring' wanted). FYI, my favourite horror movies are 'Alien' and 'The Thing' (1982). This is nothing like them, but far from boring. The superb acting from a young cast of unknowns makes this film really work. They aren't generic character 'types', they're just believable people. The premise is common enough; teens go out to the middle of nowhere then get spooked by a mysterious stranger. We don't know who, what or why and we don't need to. This is about the groups' reactions. The title perhaps hints at the other worldly, or something more than 'just' a stalking killer, but the audience is only given a few sounds to ponder what that something may be. This style of film making is infinitely preferable to being disappointed by rubbish monsters. 'Evil Things' is a great chiller and the director and cast deserve to go on to bigger things. Incidentally, I don't know why the 'found footage' format seems to be almost the only way of getting people not to write dreadful scripts for horror films; this film could have been filmed in the conventional style and still worked (see Silent House, for example).

  • Not a bad film

Not a bad little film, deserves more credit than the star reviews it has. I watched this in the dark and it really added to the creepiness of the film. A little on edge at times as to what was going to happen, but not many jumpy bits. Very much has a Paranormal Activity feel about it. Decent ish film but only let down is, at the end that was no clarity to the story line.
