Based on the true story of Russia's most notorius. B.I.G. it's not, but BIG it sure is.
Malcolm Macdowell excells once more in a role carved from the sands of time for an actor born to play it. The ability of Macdowell to draw the audience into his character is on offer for all to see as Evilenko manoevres his way through his myriad yet unfortunate life.
And the empathy he lures grows as the film goes on.! The challenges faced in cold war USSR to a dedicated communist agitated by the modernisation of the party, strengthened by his sexual inadequacies and fortified by his unhelpful wife are aplenty to see.
A thoroughly enjoyable Saturday nights entertainment.
Macdowell shows us all you're never too old to party.!! but maybe too old for the communist party.
not as bad as people say however this film deals more about the man and his mind and very little on the killings or the victims i guess it was rated 18 for its subject because the film is not very graphic and because it was not sure what it wants to be.if horror then it needed to more gory it will be a let down if documentary then it needs a lot more information than it has on the man the victims the investgation .shame it could have been alot better
