Oh! What a Show!
By a customer from Birmingham, England. , 30 Jul 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Andrew Lloyd Webber & Tim Rice at their best, giving Evita the 'Joseph' & 'Phantom' treatment and how.
An unlikely cast list brings the music passionately to life - Antonio Banderas the actor, is now Antonio Banderas the singer & Madonna carries off the part of Evita with some style. All in all an enthralling production from start to finish. The only downside is some of the cut changes between time periods early on can be a little confusing if you're not watching closely.- Was this review helpful to you?

(47)Boring and a little strange
By a customer , 17 May 2013I was very excited to see this after a recent trip to BA. She is clearly still very much loved in that city, but I felt she was completely unlikable in this film version of her story and the film didn't really seem to tell you anything about her. Very disappointed.- Was this review helpful to you?

OK but boring in parts
By TigerTraveller (18 reviews) , 20 Nov 2012Well I knew it was a musical, but MammaMia was far better as a musical than Evita. At times it seemed boring but at the same time it was interesting in parts and after watching I wanted to find out more on the internet about the characters in the film. Madonna was excellent and the other actors also brilliant. It just didn't quite do it for me despite having an interest in the country and this part of its history. I think I would have preferred more talking and not all of it singing.- Was this review helpful to you?

good film
By a customer from england , 03 Dec 2010At the time of release many folks said Madonna should have had an oscar for her performance & too be true thats not far from the truth. Antonio Banderrras gave an excelllent performance too, showing his ability.- Was this review helpful to you?
