LOVEFiLM Review
-
By Tom Charity from LOVEFiLM
Tom Hanks' latest offering centered around the events of 9/11 proves to be a misjudged and overly sentimental tale that falls on its implausability.

The beginning 30 minutes or so builds a picture and the film initially appears slow. It centres around Oscar and his search for links to his father who is killed in the 9/11 attacks. It becomes very moving in terms of the grief Oscar feels which seems like the grief and confusion of a nation at the time was put into Oscar. There are a few lighter moments, but this is an emotional movie. It takes a lot for me to be emotional but the tears were flowing by the end of the film. This is the best movie I have seen this year.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer , 12 Jun 2013This film clearly divides opinions. I'm not sure why. I found nothing to dislike. It's charming and poignant, brilliantly acted and with a great emotional pull.- Was this review helpful to you?

9/11 and four years
By Fylmbuph (1 review) , 15 May 2013Loved the movie! Initially slow, but with good reason - the kid has issues. It is intense at times but a lovely human drama: typical Bullock, picking up on human quirkiness. It was a little slow and maybe a little too long - but the ending was delightfully unexpected. I loved it - and there were no loose ends in the story - everything tied in neatly. The only thing wrong with it was the title - too long winded and I never remember it (that's probably just me)- Was this review helpful to you?

Beautiful story. 9/11 from a different perspective
By a customer , 10 May 20135 stars ! Wonderful film. Beautifully shot. The main character is quirky, but really grows on you - can't remember the last time I cried so much in a film, and just didn't want it to end. Loved it.- Was this review helpful to you?
