Tom Hanks' latest offering centered around the events of 9/11 proves to be a misjudged and overly sentimental tale that falls on its implausability.

[Highly rated reviewer]The beginning 30 minutes or so builds a picture and the film initially appears slow. It centres around Oscar and his search for links to his father who is killed in the 9/11 attacks. It becomes very moving in terms of the grief Oscar feels which seems like the grief and confusion of a nation at the time was put into Oscar. There are a few lighter moments, but this is an emotional movie. It takes a lot for me to be emotional but the tears were flowing by the end of the film. This is the best movie I have seen this year.

Beguiling, brilliant.By a customer , 12 Jun 2013This film clearly divides opinions. I'm not sure why. I found nothing to dislike. It's charming and poignant, brilliantly acted and with a great emotional pull.
slow start but stick with itBy vickig0306 (429 reviews) from Halifax , 19 May 2013it has a slow start & makes you think that it is going to be one of those films that you give up on but it is actually a great film with a great storyline. Stick with it
9/11 and four yearsBy Fylmbuph (1 review) , 15 May 2013Loved the movie! Initially slow, but with good reason - the kid has issues. It is intense at times but a lovely human drama: typical Bullock, picking up on human quirkiness. It was a little slow and maybe a little too long - but the ending was delightfully unexpected. I loved it - and there were no loose ends in the story - everything tied in neatly. The only thing wrong with it was the title - too long winded and I never remember it (that's probably just me)
Perfect for driving you insaneBy Nephixx (1 review) , 11 May 2013
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideQuite possibly the worst film I've ever seen, I'd rather force needles through my eyelids than sit though this again. The kid, Oscar, is a whiney brat all the way though and the only reason I continued watching was to see what the key opened, which turned out to be sweet F. A! Bubonic plague is preferable to watching this film. Avoid at all costs!
Beautiful story. 9/11 from a different perspectiveBy a customer , 10 May 20135 stars ! Wonderful film. Beautifully shot. The main character is quirky, but really grows on you - can't remember the last time I cried so much in a film, and just didn't want it to end. Loved it.
