I didn't know what to expect from this film but as it stared Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock, plus had a lot of praise I gave it a shot.
Basically it was just the little boy (absolutely superbly played) running around New York searching for the lock to fit his late father's key and by doing so hoping to make sense of his father's death in 9/11.
Max Von Sydow's character appeared, stayed a while then left - a more or less a completely pointless inclusion in the film - while Sandra Bullock grizzled and pulled strange faces for the most part.
Tom Hanks wasn't actually in it that much and played a maniacal father full of excitement, while you'd have missed John Goodman's input had you blinked so slight was it.
Basically, in my opinion, it was a dull film about a very sad subject in the fact that the little boy had lost his father in 9/11 and was trying to find sense and comfort in the dreadful event.
I'm told the book is far better.
