From past experiences, F1 games have never really lived up to the sport ranging from bugs to more arcade style driving rather than a simulator.

Well F1 2012 really shows what can be produced with some thought as the driving is definitely second to none with you really feeling like you have 800hp at your disposal.

Firstly the visuals - the game has very nice detailing on the cars and tracks but lacks the detail when it comes to the crowd and surroundings.

The modes - Having modes like season challenge where you do 10 races trying to win the top position for a quick experience or playing an entire season including qualifying and practice. Either way there is lots to keep you occupied.

The gameplay - This is really where the game shines as the young driver test gives a nice introduction to the sport teaching you how to corner a control the beast. Things like driving on different tyres and road conditions can be felt where you have to change your style of driving to win races.

So should you rent the game - Yes is what I'd say as it is a perfect way to get you into Formula 1 and have a taste of what it's like to control those aerodynamic perfections.

So what are you waiting for, pole position won't win itself.

Very good game if your a fan of f1 not much different from f1 2011 just better graphics and drivers and cars updated but what else can a f1 game do apart from drive f1 cars round the famou circuits and make your way up the f1 teams

  • Good but not good enough

This is a brilliant game! The racing is tense and very realistic, and the graphics look awesome. The reason this is not a 5* game is because of the handling of the cars. Now I have played all F1 games, and the handling is quite hard to get to grips with, especially if you are new to this kind of game. Other than that the game is brilliant. Must rent.

Fun game if you're into F1, but not much improvement from 2010 and 2011.

Still a great game, also need an online code to race multiplayer.
