    [Highly rated reviewer]

the dvd is well presented, i particularly enjoyed the way that they introduce the goals from each section and you were able to follow the tournamentas each group progressed.

this contnued all the way through to the final. all in all a well thought out momento of this world cup.

    certainly worth a watch.

This DVD was largely dissapointing as it did exactly what it said on the front cover and literally nothing more. It does show all the goals that were scored in the tournament but there is no story, build up or drama. Games that finished 0-0 were completely overlooked- not that they were considered classics, but they were part of the tournament as a whole and in my opinion should have been briefly covered. For example, the Sweden Vs Trinidad and Tobago game in which the swedes missed a catalogue of chances was particularly entertaining, even for a goaless draw but was not even mentioned. Poor Shaka Hislop!

In the final game in which Zinedine Zidane was infamously sent off, his headbutting on Materazzi wasnt even shown. This was probably the most poignant and memorable moment of the whole tournament and was not seen!

Also, for the many penalty shootouts through out the tournament they only show selective penalties instead of all of them, leaving people confused as to whats happening.

Ive looked for an alternative Dvd of the tournament, which would be more of a review of the tournament, but with no joy. Im guessing they thought that this effort was enough. IT'S NOT!

Virtually all the goals, as the title states, apart from early ones of the penalty shoot outs. Heavily distorted hospital radio standard of commentary for the group stages. Virtually no other action apart from the open play immediately preceding a penalty: that means no footage of any skills, nearly-goals or incidents including Rooney's exit or Zizou's moment of madness. Annoying decision of the producers to show the full-time score at the BEGINNING of each game excerpt. Add feeble graphics and Bontempi music and this all amounts to a rather modest package.

The blurb with this DVD states 'the very best action and every goal from the 2006 FIFA World Cup'.

In fact, it doesn't show many of the Penalty Shoot-out goals (when Switzerland where knocked out 3-0 on Penalties, only the Swiss Misses are shown!), and 'Highlights' such as Zinedine Zedanes Headbutt, Rooneys Sending Off and 'The Wink' are absent.

Having said that, the commentary captures the excitement that all Fans of the Beautiful Game would have felt during the Summer of 2006 and the Camera work (frequent ultra-SloMo replays) are exceptional. It made me hanker for 2010!
