    The cast for the forthcoming remake of classic film Fame is growing, with new names released. According to Hollywood Reporter, MGM has announced nine names confirmed for the film including Kristy Flores, Paul Iacono, Naturi Naughton, Kay Panabaker, Collins Pennie, Walter Perez and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle. It is rumoured that Thomas Dekker, from TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, is in negotiations to take the lead male role in the $25 million (£14.7 million) production.... Read more

    Downey Jr to get Hollywood star

    Robert Downey Jr is among a list of celebrities to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Iron Man star is set to receive the accolade along with fellow actors Ralph Fiennes and Sir Ben Kingsley. The stars will be officially unveiled on the Hollywood Boulevard during next year.     Aronofsky on board for Robocop remake

    Darren Aronofsky has been confirmed as the director of MGM's forthcoming Robocop remake. Paul Verhoeven directed the original in 1987, which starred Peter Weller as a police officer who is rebuilt as a cyborg after being mortally wounded. Aronofsky, know for work such as Requiem For A Dream and The Fountain, has long been tipped to helm a 21st century version of the cult film.     Paramount movie tickets top $1bn

    Ticket sales for Paramount films in the US and Canada have topped the $1 billion (£500 million) mark, it has been reported. Recent hits such as Iron Man and Indiana Jones have helped to send the studio's ticket sales through the roof, reports the BBC. "It has been a wonderful year so far," said Paramount chairman Brad Grey.     The legendary Munchkins from The Wizard of Oz received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week. Some 68 years after the film was made, the Munchkins were honoured after a campaign involving Steven Spielberg and George Lucas among others, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
