My memory was far better than the actual film
By tellytubby (40 reviews) from Ballymoney , 30 Jul 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
I saw this a while back and I think my memory was very clouded. It was watchable but I have definitely seen better. If you are looking for a heist movie then this isn't the one to go for. However if you are looking for a film showing family dynamics spread over 3 generations then this is a film with some good lines and ok performances.
Not Dustin Hofmans best and Sean Connery, I've seen better too.- Was this review helpful to you?

TOP MOVIE !!!
By a customer from GLASGOW , 31 Aug 2005You've probably already guessed that the Family Business in this all-star melodrama is the business of crime. Adapted from a novel by Vincent Patrick, the film stars Sean Connery as Jessie McMullen, the patriarch of a family of career criminals, including his son Vito (Dustin Hoffman) and grandson Adam (Matthew Broderick). Vito has gone legit, but college-educated Adam remains loyal to his grandfather. Reluctantly, Vito joins his father and son on a big-time heist involving millions of dollars' worth of test-tube specimens. There's many a slip-up and betrayal before the three generations can find a common ground.- Was this review helpful to you?

Passes the time but not a lot else
By Tom Holder from Salisbury, England , 18 Sep 2004This isn't a terribly good film. It's watchable but you'll never remember it and you certainly won't discuss it down the pub with your mates. With so many DVDs on this site I wouldn't bother.- Was this review helpful to you?
