    superb.........

this dvd is superb. Family Guy is a cartoon series about an American suburban family, consisting of: a well-meaning mum, fat slob dad, and their 3 dysfunctional kids. This series is aimed at a more adult audience, with some very interesting twists to the storylines, most notably Stewie the psychopathic baby and Brian the urbane, talking dog.

There is Peter Griffin - who works in a toy factory and falls asleep on duty, and whose daily rituals of TV watching take priority over everything else.

There is Lois Griffin - the devoted wife and mother, who dreams of becoming a star entertainer. she juggles the housework and motherhood with teaching piano lessons, and avoiding being killed by her murderous infant - Stewie Griffin.

Stewie Griffin - is the youngest of the Griffin clan, but is the most intelligent. His plans of world domination are hindered by his infancy, but he isn't about to let that stop him.

Meg Griffin - is the daughter of the family, and seems to be disliked by everyone, because they think that she is ugly. they refuse to acknowledge her. Meg dreams of being popular, passing her driving test and of another family.

Chris Griffin - is the elder son of the family, who loves food but has roughly the IQ of a dingbat. He is quite loveable though.

Brian Griffin - is a talking dog, who offers the family advice - but they do not take it . Brian loves a martini or two, and a smoke. He also outwits Stewie.

The pilot episode - called 'Death has a shadow', is very good, as it sets up all the characters. Peter who drinks 37 beers in one night, is fired at work, and gains unemployment benefit for $150 a week, but actually gets $150,000. so instead of telling the benefit office, he spends it all as fast as possible. The episode also shows Stewie, taking 3 shots at killing his mum, by means of firing a laser beam, tampering with a chair leg, and firing poisoned arrows at her.

One of the best episodes on season 1, is 'If I'm dying I'm lying', where Peter tells a charitable organisation that his son Chris is dying, in order to get a tv show back on television.

this series is well worth watching.

Family Guy was a pleasure to watch.

As I laid low with flu the best medicine I could find was humour. After 10 minutes I was in hysterics. Family Guy is cartoon humour for adults. Its sharp, quick, witty, riduculous and crazy. With Brian the speaking dog and the sharp humour of Stewie the baby, and the tom foolery of Peter it all adds up to an hilarious experience. Funnier then "The Simpsons", sharper then "King of the Hill", this is comdey animation at its best. Highly recommended.

    Brilliant and Funny

Missed this when it was on the tele, thought I would give it a shot. Brilliant entertaining comedy with some very likable characters, my personal favourite has to be the baby... my evil side coming out obviously. Brilliant and funny, with lots of LOL moments. Watching them all at once can get a bit much, so for a fuller flavour take your time but make sure you watch this.

genious, or however you spell it

ok,you get a lot of films or shows which are over hyped, but this one is definitely under hyped.i had never heard of it until one night when i was wasted sleeping at a friends house, not in view of the tv, but i cold hear the voices of the characters, and was laughing to myself purely from the noise. i rented it this week and watched every episode and it is one of the funniest cartoons i have ever come across.baby stu is amazing, the 'family guy' himself is hilarious, and brian the dog....what more can i say?pure genious, bes t when ur stoned

    Genius

Family Guy really was one of the best discoveries ever - introduced long after its demise by a flatmate, it's easily on a par with any other animated show today.

The jokes are constant, brilliant, and rarely predictable. Stewie alone, as the evil megalomaniac baby, deserves his own show, but it's Peter as the alter-homer that really sets it off.

Forget The Simpsons, Futurama, King of the hill and all the other pretenders Family Guy is the funniest, most irreverent, and surreal animation series in history. This show was cancelled by Fox , but has now become the first show to ever be recomissioned after it was cancelled,( to be aired in 2005). This happened due to massive pressure from fans and massive DVD sales, which saw it become the fourth biggest selling dvd ever, and you probably havent even heard of it. All who watch Family Guy , will love it.Guaranteed!

    No 1 cartoon family??

Family Guy is a gem!! Cruelly underacclaimed. Easily as funny as the simpsons if not more so. The families are very similar in their make up Peter Griffin takes Homer's role as the witless husband, Lois is great as the glue that holds the family together, Chris and Meg are the squabbling kids but Stewie is the pick, planning world domination and failing to kill is mother many times. Then theres brian the dog, no ordinary family pet who councils Peter through his troubles. A quality show which deserves your time.

    Great watch

If you enjoy the simpsons you will enjoy this. The humour is more adult which makes even better viewing. Great first season and the rest are just as good.
