Great film - acting, songs, plot all fits. If you haven't seen it then rent it as it has to rank as the top 5 film in 2006.

I was a bit disappointed that this was about Muslims not Hindus, as I love the temples and dancing in the latter. However the plot had some really good twists with a satisfying ending.

The music theme ran throughout and has been one of my favourite songs for a long time, so was great to hear.

I particularly enjoyed watching early work of Sanaya Irani who is now famous on Star Plus in Iss Pyar Ko Kya Nam Doon. She was only in it for a brief period but was very sweet.

Amir Khan was certainly better looking in this than he is now! Though his constant changes of appearance was very interesting to watch.

On the whole a good plot - I was dubious that a blind girl could have done all that dancing on stage - she only appeared to be minded once - having watched Andrea Bocelli in La Boheme having to be carefully choreographed around the stage her dance performance was unrealistic, as was the 'cure' for her blindness which I don't think is actually possible.

Nevertheless it was emotive and gripping and had some clever ideas. A good story to watch if you have a free evening.

This was one of the best films I have seen. It was a good story well acted. The scenes were great. There was plenty of feeling that felt true. There were things to think about. There was suspense and some very unexpected twists in the plot.

but I could see what they were trying to do with it. I really enjoyed this film, it had so many twists in it and kept me hooked throughout. The main actors were up to their usual standard, it is one of the more interesting bollywood films that I have watched and quite different too. I would recommend at least one watch to make up your own mind.

  • Kajol and Aamir don’t disappoint, yet again

Fine performances all round from Kajol and Aamir. The story unfolds well and Kajol was particular good in a role that had to suspend belief on various levels.

This manages to be a romance and yet deal with current affairs from the micro level with equal good measure.
