Hilariously hyped at the time as a female Tom Jones, this is notorious flesh merchant Russ Meyer's brush with the classics. In this case Meyer characteristically exploits John Cleland's bawdy 18th-century novel about a young woman who finds herself working in a brothel, but his direction lacks any style or discernible talent. By his standards this is fairly innocuous stuff, but while the bare flesh quota is low, the schoolboy smuttiness remains. Veteran actress Miriam Hopkins, who in her prime worked with Ernst Lubitsch and Bette Davis, looks understandably embarrassed to be there. This is amateurish drivel that fails as comedy, titillation or historical fiction. One contemporary newspaper critic called it a disgrace to the film industry. You can't argue with common sense.
A relatively large budget and some respectable names in the cast list, but this is still limp softcore flummery sold on... read more on Time Out
The Radio Times review above is for the 1964 version, not the 1983 one, which is the one available for hire here.
A beautifully filmed soft-core romp. Lovely girls, famous story, everybody has a good time, well worth a watch for a bit of sparkle on a Saturday night with your lover.
Film with some famous actors - Oliver Reed, Shelly Winters and Wilfred Hyde White. Story about an orphan who makes a living in a brothel, finds her man, loses him, becomes a kept woman, works in another brothel and then finds man again. Some comedy and very soft porn along the way. Quite watchable for couples.

Rather erotic and should have restricted viewing.

Fanny Hill is pure soft porn.
The story itself is easy to miss and inconsequential amidst the sex scenes in each chapter.
If this is what you're into then you'll love it, though probably 10 min of watching will achieve your objective
Saucy, great for a nice cuddly with your beloved..
