The Rock finally gets the role he deserves.By Ozor (92 reviews) from Essex , 10 Dec 2010
[Highly rated reviewer]This movie isn't anything groundbreaking, it does nothing unique and it doesn't try to. It's an action movie with a fairly decent plot.
The main attraction to this movie will no doubt be The Rock, he plays an ex-convict looking for revenge and stopping at nothing to get it. This is the role he has been in need of, none of the usual gimmicks of his make an appearance, no wrestling, no eyebrows and no cheap quotes. In fact The Rock doesn't say much in this movie at all, which adds to the character and makes him more believable.
This movie is a break The Rock so desperately needed. It isn't an all out action movie so don't go in expecting The Expendables type fights, it's bloody, gritty and tense.
I would give it a good 4/5 as like I said before, it doesn't do anything new or original, but what it tries to do it does well.

is there a sequel?....case not closedBy a customer , 03 Dec 2013
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideThe film starts of good...and its pretty clear that he's out to kill everyone involved in his brothers death. The film finishes and yet the biggest betrayal of all has gone unpunished so the question is, is there a sequel?
I personally found the alterative ending better, as the assassin doesn't just walk away [which seems out of character] and it definitely gives a feel for a sequel.
almost watchableBy cheesekake (1495 reviews) from uk , 01 Dec 2013While watching this film I was reminded of how similar it seemed in the tarantino style of film. Rather slow. What action there was was good but could've been better. Canny soundtrack which was the best part of the film
Not one of the Rocks bestBy lastengland (102 reviews) from Winchester , 22 Nov 2013hmm, not as good as I was expecting, but hey ho. Good finish though & unexpected. Didn't recognised Billy Bob Thornton, & he gave a good performance
All a bit woodenBy a customer , 18 Nov 2013No idea what eveyone else is on about, as aside from a twist at the end (which is a more 'meh' than 'OMG'), this thriller is decidely pedestrian with pretty wooden perfomances, The Rock in particular living up to his name
