Good film
By drummerh from Greater Manchester , 29 Aug 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
Whether or not you enjoy this film will possibly depend on how much the subject matter appeals to you. It's pretty much just a dark tale of a young man's survival in various situations through the holocaust and beyond, which in itself is nothing new, but this (despite being in Hungarian) has at least been put togther thoughtfully. If nothing else it sets the scene without being gratuitously graphic, and is well worth a look.- Was this review helpful to you?

(35)hidden gem, must see movie
By a customer , 09 Feb 2012Though this film was just as good if not better than any movie I seen on this subject, including schinders list. The young actor playing the lead was simply breath taking and utterly convincing in his protrayal of the character. The way the film is shot and the still shots are a tribute to the subject matter. Please don't be put off by the fact the film is in substitles, if this subject or films like it are interest to you this film is a must see. It will still in your mind days afterwards- Was this review helpful to you?

Well worth watching.
By a customer , 01 Aug 2011I was very moved by this film. Brilliant acting from the young male lead.
It was beautifully filmed and yet captured the misery and reality of the concentration camps.
I would recommend this film - well worth watching.- Was this review helpful to you?

Very well made
By a customer , 23 May 2011I enjoyed this film, if you can call it that. It is well made and very absorbing. It is quite graphic in some scenes and appears to be very realistic when it comes to concentration camp life, but does even manage an uplifting end.- Was this review helpful to you?

Fateless - harrowing but wonderful
By a customer from Dukinfield , 04 Jan 2011This film brings to life what it must have been like for Jews in Europe during the 2nd World War. The film centres around a 14 year old boy, sent to a concentration camp and his struggles to survive. You will experience a real empathy with him.- Was this review helpful to you?

Slow and uninspired.
By a customer from OXON , 29 Jun 2010Like so many films of this genre, there is too much emphasis on tugging the heart strings. As a film, I found it too slow with very little charactor development. There are better films out there but if you're interested in the period from a Hungarian pioint of view, it's worth a look.- Was this review helpful to you?
