If you want to see why...
By FUTURE#1 from LOUGHBOROUGH , 16 Jan 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
If you want to see why Reese Witherspoon is the highest paid actress in Hollywood, watch this film, not Legally Blonde 2
Reese was far greater in her earlier, riskier films, than in the current "cashing in phase" she now deservingly finds her self in. When the plot calls for it Reese is screen dynamite, as is Mark Whalberg who is now cashin in with shallow epic remakes like Planet of the Apes. This film has a great plot, great actors and a great climax. A little more characterisation for Mark's character would not have gone a miss, otherwise its a real thumbs up release.
Films were far easier to believe 9 years ago when this was made, before mobile phones took off and ruined every "trapped" plot scenario.- Was this review helpful to you?

(54)Watchable thriller
By Bobsview (554 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 02 Apr 2013Low budget adequate teen thriller. Sexy 16 year old girl falls for older smooth talking boy who turns out to be very bad news and a psychopath and have some very nasty friends . Builds to a massively violent climax but the film is entirely predictable throughout. The most notable feature is the performance of a very young Reese Witherspoon.- Was this review helpful to you?

More flaws/floors than my house!
By grace7mart (1 review) , 13 Oct 2012Seriously, don't waste your time.
My rating would have been lower if we had not actually quite enjoyed ripping the film to shreds, not because it's THAT good!
The acting performances are ok across the board (nothing better than that) but it's very clichéd in how the story pans out and also has some continuity flaws.
If you add-in the total lack of 'fear' you might begin to see what we really felt about the film.- Was this review helpful to you?

Boyfriend from hell!
By SusieP (127 reviews) from Leeds , 28 Dec 2011A young Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon are both very good in this effective thriller, premise has been seen before but it's done well here. As a parent, I guess you need to think that if a new boyfriend seems to good to be true, then maybe he is!! Will certainly have many protective dads giving their daughters' suitors more than just a cursory look. Some scary moments, and well worth watching.- Was this review helpful to you?

Love's young nightmare
By a customer , 20 Apr 2011Although I have watched this film before some time ago, it was worth seeing again. Watching the ever so creepy Wahlberg charm the pants off Reese Witherspoon, quite literally. It's all young love and teen angst and it is quite believable as the love's young dream becomes a nightmare.
Good to see once again how Wahlberg started out in the movie business and it's reassuring he totally holds his own as the loathesome obsessive boyfriend.
Enjoy- Was this review helpful to you?
