Wow, what a film, I was expecting some gritting action but was hit with so much more. Stunning film, a real testiment to Bristish and Irish film making, it holds no punches and the cast is amazing, Ben Kingsley was great but Jim Sturgess is incredible, how he gave such a balanced, warm and heartfelt perfomance is beyond me, mesmerising from the off. A tricky and clearly still sore subject matter too given that he is still on the run. I urge you to watch it, in fact make it a double bill with Hunger! My only negative is that god aweful cover, it makes this film out to be something its not.

Interesting depiction of the dangerous and volatile life in Northern Ireland. Well directed, acted and realistic setting; gripping, tense and shocking. Warning: not a feel good movie!

Epic raw and very realistic portrait of Northern Ireland troubles, no romancing or dumbing down. Based on a true story, the film made me feel as if I was there and I the film was poigant, because you felt for both sides and their fight. Brilliant acting.

A compelling film from start to finish. The contrast between the banality of normal life during 'the troubles' and the undercurrent of extreme and disturbing violence was very well conveyed. I haven't been so nervous about when the violence is going to happen since watching Goodfellas - and that's a good thing
