Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
By PinkLoony (4 reviews) from Liverpool , 16 Sep 2009[Highly rated reviewer]
I am a big fan of Final Fantasy, but i have no idea why they have made such a great title feel so cheep. The whole thing made me wonder why i bought a Wii in the first place. A complete disaster. Stay clear!- Was this review helpful to you?

(8)A timewaster, a last resort...
By Bunni89 (6 reviews) , 25 Dec 2012Pretty honestly average, not awful but so unremarkable you're better off getting something else. It's a rather standard action-RPG with not much substance to the gameplay except a neat ability to jump atop an enemy to stunlock them to death since they can't hit you back. (But really it feels like cheating! XD) You can use the most barebones character creation system ever and pick between 6 preset appearances (one per gender and race), and then you play a personalityless mute who seems to wander around doing stuff for no particular reason except you were told to. Sometimes the plot will seriously aggrivate you if you wanted to see some common sense- you actually get the villain revealed to your character in the first five seconds of the game but then still HAVE to get 'tricked' into helping him later on because gosh who is this, he must be a kindly librarian! Who's asking us to climb 'fire and ice mountain' to activate ancient machines.. this would be suspicious even if the reveal wasn't already given away! The dungeon puzzles are at least challenging but very repetitive and sometimes seem to make no sense at all. Both because illogical stuff happens purely to give you a path out (regenerating books?? that I need to shelve to cast a spell??) and because the solutions are alternately unintuitive and way too obvious. Get used to blocks solving everything and stuff just popping up cos you beat all the monsters. In summary there's a huge oldschool feel, for better or for worse. There isn't much drive to actually complete the thing and no party members to get attatched to, unless you have three friends to use the multiplayer. The only saving grace is that the NPC dialogue is honestly hilarious, which just makes you dissappointed that the plot scenes are all I UNLEASH EVIL POWAH, YOU MUST GO NEXT DUNGEON. A cast of charming town members just isn't enough incentive to struggle onward. The plot DOES get less cliche later on, but lets just say its a major downer and not even worth it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Ripped straight from the DS looks terrible!
By MythicalDragon (4 reviews) , 05 Oct 2012I got this game thinking it'd be really good but found myself VERY disappointed. It's very cheap and Looks like it's directectly from the DS Game!!! IT'S NOT EVEN FULL SCREEN. All it is the two DS screens placed side by side.
I reccomend NOT getting this game if your expecting a good quality rpg game. Because it's NOT.
In comparison to 'Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Dungeon' I think Fables beats it 100%- Was this review helpful to you?

typical nintendo
By sparky19881 (1 review) , 24 Jun 2012another attempt from nintendo to make something as cheaply as possible, its literally a port from the DS game, so if you have a DS get it on there, it will be a better experience- Was this review helpful to you?

What a waste of Square Enix's time
By Krull82 (22 reviews) , 29 Dec 2011I would not recommend this game to anyone. The gameplay is dire and repetitive. The screen is only about 15' on a 32' screen. This is a poor excuse to use the Final Fantasy name on!!- Was this review helpful to you?
