King Arthur's always cool
By Andy Simons from Folkestone, England , 03 Jun 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
I can't believe this is the first review of this film! There's some great stuff here - swashbuckling, old school honour among knights, sweet justice and a bit of a love story. Richard Gere is extremely well cast, and Connery as always delivers the goods as King Arthur. Suitable for girls too.- Was this review helpful to you?

(23)Knights in blue drapes
By sallieseashore (7 reviews) , 02 Nov 2012The overwhelming thing that hits one first is the ghastly costumes. Is it Starwars or high opera????I feel confident that had the actors seen the costumes before they had signed the contract, they surely would have run from this film, fast.
I'm sure they would look nice draped on the cast of an Italian opera, but even the poor peasants had colour co-ordinated (blue) very clean drapes. The only person to rise above these garish adornments was, predictably Sean Connery, who has enough gravitas to obliterate the costumes and the dialogue.
Oh dear!- Was this review helpful to you?

Too long
By gianino (618 reviews) from London , 30 Jun 2012Too long and a bit too average at times. Some of the acting was poor; apart from Sean Connery the rest of the cast is pretty forgettable. Richard Gere is not particular convincing and Giulia Ormond looks like she is out of place. The plot is ok but nothing new; I mean this movie is not bad but I've seen better.- Was this review helpful to you?

By Rosaline (7 reviews) from Hull , 24 Feb 2011This is a great love story and romantic. Great for men, women and children to watch. It has historical knowlege about king arther and the round table....but did he real exist.....I googled it to find out after I watched the film.- Was this review helpful to you?
