Wow what a film/story. Admittedly it will not appeal to all but it will definitely give you food for thought.Based loosely on fact it gives a view hardly ever seen and does not pull any punches. There are scenes which stretch credibility but as ex-forces it came close to home. War is not pretty or in the majority gentlemanly it certainly made me think

Probably a documentary rather than an epic tale of love and war and therfore not one for the annals. Into the bargain it tended to give a one sided version of the conflict between Russia and Georgia, where as in all wars only the innocent suffer.

... and saves the day, again. This is just awful. What should be an important history lesson cannot be believed because of the the painfully pro-US (and therefore anti-Russian) bias. The script is awful. The sub-plots are awful. The music is awful. Apart from the camera-work, which is not bad, the only saving grace comes down to a few brief appearances by Val Kilmer.

  • Well worth a watch.

I really liked this film. It was an eye opener as I wasn't really aware of the facts behind the true events that this is based on. It was obviously ramped up for the big screen, but it contained enough detail to fill in as an historical record. Well worth a watch.

The additional material that shows some of the real people that were involved in the event (relatives) also brings it closer to home I think.

Very disappointing. Even with Andie MacDowell in a starring role you are better off watching Harrison's Flowers for a depiction of Journalism at war.
