it gets addictive
By a customer from northants,england , 26 Apr 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
i remember watching this when i was in my young teens and enjoyed each enthrawling episode.still has an addictive appeal, with the very simple christina being caught up in the middle of 3 miserable men.mark, the better looking one of them all,but a total pig to live with, the uncle, with his earmuff hair cut, that needs putting down due to his hatred towards mankind unless your a horse and william hooked on his flying machines.this is a love it or hate it scenario.with me enjoying it at the moment and cant wait for the next episode.especially if theres nothing else on telly.worth a look- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from Essex , 20 May 2007I love period dramas, especially earlier productions, but this one is pretty poor.- Was this review helpful to you?

Nostalgic viewing
By a customer from Cornwall , 11 Mar 2007Great viewing in 1978 and stands up well against many of today's productions. Some have made the criticism that the pace is far too slow, but they miss the point. The slow pace is all part of the appeal, and the period feel of the Edwardian era is done well.
Theme tune (Mum, mum, mum, mum....) a bit naff though!- Was this review helpful to you?
