This isn't a martial arts flick—and only someone entirely naive of the Hong Kong Cinema genre would think it to be so. This film is a Hong Kong cop action/drama, with some inevitable martial arts scenes thrown in.

As these things go, Flashpoint has all the ingredients to be a top-rate HK cop flick—and it doesn't disappoint! Donnie Yen plays the hard-hitting, criminal-bashing Inspector Ma. Louis Koo plays the main villain very well and the supporting actors acquit themselves adequately. Somewhat smiler to 'Sha Po Long' and 'New Police Story' this film sits comfortably at the better end of the HK cop flick scale. If you enjoy action films then this is definitely worth a watch, just don't whine about dubbing or subtitles.
