Denzel a high flyerBy blackpolekev (248 reviews) from blackpole , 04 Feb 2013
[Highly rated reviewer]The film's early flight scene is excellent, first with the bad weather & turbulence, then later the panic as the plane suddenly and rapidly loses height, and finally the crash itself. It drags a little after that for a while but picks up as we witness Denzel Washington's battle with alcoholism, his denial that he has a problem, a court case, his eventual acceptance of his addiction, and his redemption into a sober, better man. DW gives another fine performance as the plane captain; there is also a cameo from Britain's own Piers Morgan as himself. This is probably not the film to watch if you're shortly about to go flying - but otherwise it's well worth a look.

thought provokingly brilliantBy pasma (8 reviews) , 17 Sep 2013fantastic film, shows the brilliance of a pilot sharply contrasted with his complete addiction to alcohol. it was interesting to understand the psyche of man where against all odds, a man will be hunted down and made to pay for his faults notwithstanding how many lives he has saved. an interesting watch and Denzel always delivers
Not worth the watchBy tallpau1 (9 reviews) , 15 Sep 2013One of Denzel's poorer films. I found myself quite bored throughout the whole film. Poor storyline of an alcoholic pilot. No imagination. Very predictable throughout.
Denzil does it againBy a customer , 15 Sep 2013Film was ok, great effects and dealt with the subject matter very well. After the crash it seems to take a while to get going again. It is a bit too long at 2hrs 10 mins probably better as a 90 minute film.
One for the road...?By Mikeebar (2 reviews) from Bournemouth , 13 Sep 2013Generally a very good film but somewhat contrived in parts. The effects are well done, but you have seen those in the trailer. The plot moves quickly for what is for the most part a legal / morality story. At times there are hard to believe twists to make the plot go where it needs to and as usual with such films the morality goes into overdrive towards the end. Definitely a worthwhile watch, but the last 2-3 minutes are unnecessary.
Glad I'm not flying any day soon!!By SallyH (7 reviews) , 13 Sep 2013Excellent movie, Denzel Washington as good as ever! Great Special effects, good story. Started off not liking the pilot, but by the end I felt sorry for him!!
