LOVEFiLM Review Flightplan

  • 3 stars out of 5

    By Tom Charity from LOVEFiLM

Flightplan is a claustrophobic, Hitchcockian thriller, directed by Robert Schwentke and starring Jodie Foster.

Pretty good. Good story and not hindered by being set almost entirely on an aeroplane. I'm not that fussed on Jodie Foster, but she's very watchable in this.

Switch your brain off and forget any chance this might be enjoyable. The child is really annoying and it's a blessing she's not around for most of the film. It's 90 mins of Jodie Foster, doing...erm...Jodie Foster. Sean Bean is wasted as a slightly demented pilot. Plot is pretty feeble and hugely over complicated. I couldn't be bothered with any of the characters. Choose this if there really isn't anything else. Yawn.

Just watched this on BBC iPlayer.

Available for streaming the next few days until 12:44AM Thu, 6 Sep 2012, if you cant wait for the DVD.

Worth watching and I think a reasonable 'comeback' for Jodie Foster. More could have been made of the plot, but hey ho, nobody's perfect.

  • Flight Plain.

Sadly this isn't up to Miss Foster's usual calibre. The story is a well-worn one now which Flightplan doesn't even seek to dress up in any way. Too many questions are left to the viewer to make his/her own mind up.

The ending could have been off another movie completely as it was so badly written and acted.

I didn't find it offensive but will not watch it again.

I loved this movie, it doesn't appear possible to create a thriller in an airplane but it worked and i enjoyed it as lot.

  • Disappointing return to the big screen.

Pity that Jody chose this film to end her 3 year break. Too many unexplained questions. It just did not hold together as a thriller.
