After 2002's Panic Room, Jodie Foster took a three year break before deciding to take another leading role in a major motion picture. Three years is a lifetime in Hollywood, but Foster is one of the few stars who can afford to take such a lengthy hiatus from the industry and still command major roles on her return. Robert .. The narrative holds you in a vice-like grip
By far her best performance for years ****
Movie is fairly tense and it does keep you watching and wondering and very few people are going to guess the central plot which is just as well as its a bit far fetched.
During the build up its fun to guess what could be possibly be happening anyway.
Would have been funny if they had went for a non Hollywood ending for the shock value but alas it plays out in a semi predictable fashion.
This film held my attention, but lacked in so many areas. The ending was poor in my opinion and Jodie Foster gave her usual 'innocent girl acting' routine. 3 stars for an average, run of the mill thriller.
Pretty good. Good story and not hindered by being set almost entirely on an aeroplane. I'm not that fussed on Jodie Foster, but she's very watchable in this.
Ludicrous plotline with no depth or consistency, let alone logical reality - difficult to suspend disbelieve with this one. Come back film it maybe, but it was a bad choice for such a fine actor. Tried real hard to get into it, but after 30 mins it was bye bye time. The first 10-15 mins was particularly bad, slow, confusing and frankly pointless to the main plot line. Idea was nice, execution and production pathetic
A very interesting thriller. Quite gripping and yet poignant.

Excellent platform for Ms Foster to spread her wings (sorry) having not quite seized the day on her last outing in the aforementioned Panic Room. Jodie plays it perfectly this time with her handling of a well-judged script that keeps her (and me) guessing as to what is really going on in either the cavernous aircraft or her mind. How chilling when you have a missing daughter and have all around you are saying 'what daughter?'.Would you trust Captain Sean Bean to fly you home?
Apart from giving us an insight in to the future of double decker planes, Foster's great performance made this movie better than average. Not so sure about Bean, though my wife didn't mind him at all as Captain! Plot plausibility fell apart towards the end, nevertheless enjoyable and worth going to the cinema for.
The storyline is ludicrous, and the screenplay poor. Jodie Foster is better than this. I can only guess that there were several rewrites because several plotlines simply fizzle out and the ending seems hastily cobbled together.
I wish I had not wasted my time watching this rubbish.
This film begins as a reasonably decent psycological thriller, then rapidly and magically transforms itself into a large, festering pile of hairy snot containing Sean Bean. But I can't tell you why because it will spoil the lovely surprise.
Watch this then book yourself in for that long overdue lobotomy.
Flightplan is a wicked film, which keeps you clinging on to your seat all the way through. Jodie Foster is a fantastic actress and shines as always in this film, releasing extra tension in the search for her daughter. I recommend this film a must view, especially so if your a Jodie Foster fan.
I have to say following the much hyped slagging of this film I was suprised at how much I enjoyed it.
As ever Foster delivers here woman in peril roll effortlessly and with a strong supporting cast of bean and Skarrsgard.
Watch and enjoy and also check out the documentary on making the plane. At only 10 minutes long it explains how the plane was constructed from scratch and how each camera angle was achieved. One of the best extras I've seen on a DVD for a while.
If you like this you may want to check out Passenger 57 or Turbulence.
The film carrys you through in a jolly enough fashion but I promise you that when you get to the end you will ask yourself how the heck this film ever reached the big screen. Honestly. Jodie Foster is ok everything else about this film is not. Not to give anything away but when you find out what has happened stop the film and make sure that it makes sense to you cause it sure didnt to us.
