    When the cat's away......

Roddy (Hugh Jackman, also in Happy Feet), a handsome mouse living in a posh Kensington house, but with no real friends, is repulsed when a sewer rat named Sid intrudes into his home and when Roddy tries to flush him back, Sid gets the last laugh and Roddy is 'Flushed Away' into a sewer town where a young lady mouse named Rita (Kate Winslet) captains the Jammy Dodger and lives with her many siblings, parents and Grandmother (Who is an avid fan of Tom Jones). Roddy is swept into helping her stop the Toad and his minions from an ingenious plot to flush the town of Rats away. Can they do it in time...and will Roddy learn to find a friend in Rita?

This movie was absolutely brilliant! The animation was among the very best I have ever seen (surpassing even that of Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and others). It was hilariously funny, colourful, bright, witty, and entertaining! This movie far exceeded all my expectations, it is a must-see!!!

The voices are spot-on perfect for the characters, the little 'puns' here and there are just brilliant, and the story is unique. Great for all ages. There were several laugh-out-loud scenes and brilliant gags and jokes that kept me laughing after the movie was over.

“Flushed Away” pushes all the boundarys and really shows us what can be achieved with the technology of today. This is the new standard and the bar is set very, very high. By far the best animation ever!

Don't let this anywhere near the loo

A upperclass rat gets 'Flushed Away' one day by a common rat and ends up in the sewers. Not only does he find a new life waiting for him down there, but alot of problems too. This was animation at its best. A great story, great characters, great voices and a great film. I laughed all the way through this one and the comedy was brilliant. I actually read somewhere that this film didn't do very well at the flicks, but don't listen to that in anyway. For me this was well written and well done. Top marks.

    See it

Flushed Away was a joy to see! Great characters, genuinely funny moments, exciting boat chases. Great family film and choice bits for the adults to enjoy as well. A combination of the styles of Wallace and Gromit and Shrek. Wonderful stuff.

    Short on sublety

The usual clever animation, fast moving story but somehow it lacks the depth and ingenuity we've come to expect from such kids 'cartoon' films. 'Shrek' etc. is streets ahead storywise but it still beats 'Chicken Run'. They've tried to throw in a few film refs for the adults to latch onto but it all a bit hamfisted. One for the under eights.

    Superb for all ages

Very very funny. Great soundtrack. Great acting. Love the one liners. And everytime you watch, you see something new - things going on in the background to make you laugh. Whitey's one liner responses crack me up every time. Even better than Shrek , another excellent film by Dreamworks.

    Flushed Away

One word; hilarious. I took my children to see this under duress, not really expecting much. The story's great, the characters well defined and, more importantly, the script is beautifully written. There has to be a laugh a sec, and I mean each and every second. Just to cap it all, the film extracts the urine out of the French, what more do you need to know? LOL

Oh, and the kids loved it too........ ;-)

    Family entertainment

The animation in this film is brilliant. The slugs were hilarious although I was the only person in the cinema who laughed out loud when they sang 'Lonely, I am so lonely'. The storyline was entertaining and a happy ending is always good. The frog's tongue had me in stitches.

Very funny tale of a tame pet rat who is flushed down the toilet and has to mix with all of the common sewer folk. Plenty of funny jokes throughout fun for all the family

    Toilet humour..first rat(e)...

We understand that in 2000 the original idea (involving pirates rather than rats) was put to Dreamworks, and they said 'there's no interest in pirates' (that was before any of the 'Carribbeans' set sail). Then Aardman put it aside while making 'Were Rabbit' which delayed it further. But let us just say, as a meeting of minds and talents from Aardman and Dreamworks, this was well worth the wait. It is daft...hilariously veryyyy daft in fact... So whether you are 8 or 80 and want to titter in the tubes or snigger in the sewers, you won't want to miss this rat tale. Well worth a watch.
