  Hugh Jackman's robot boxing movie Real Steel has narrowly fought off competition from new dance remake Footloose to make it a second week atop the U.S. box office chart. Real Steel locked down an extra £10.2 million in ticket sales this week (ends16Oct11) to remain at number one, edging out Footloose, starring Kenny Wormald in the part made famous by Kevin Bacon in 1984.   Actor Kevin Bacon was left in awe after recently watching his screen test for Footloose - because he was surprised by how much ambition he had.   Kevin Bacon was stunned to learn about the upcoming Footloose movie because he was convinced he would never see a remake of the film in his lifetime.   Actor Thomas Dekker is the frontrunner to take over from Chace Crawford in the Footloose remake, according to a U.S. report. The Gossip Girl hunk was set to tackle the role made famous by Kevin Bacon in the 1984 classic, but dropped out of the project last month (Apr10) citing "scheduling conflicts". The Los Angeles Times reports that Dekker, best known for his role in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, is preparing to step in to replace Crawford, and he's already hinted he has a "fun"...
