A totally unnecessary and remarkably belated follow-up to producer Carl Foreman's massive 1961 hit, The Guns of Navarone. The cast here is no match for Gregory Peck, David Niven and Anthony Quinn in the original; this time round, a tired Robert Shaw (in his penultimate picture), a pre-superstardom Harrison Ford and a mannered Edward Fox are faced not only with the enemy, but also with a cliché-ridden script. Director Guy Hamilton's uninspired movie begins with the climax of the earlier film, then spends an inordinate amount of time before reaching its own explosive finale. Fans of the James Bond series may recognise Barbara Bach and Richard Kiel in supporting roles.

I had not seen this movie before and had high hopes with cast. It just didn`t deliver it was a casual watch at best. Sorry Harrison, Shaw and Fox

Ford had done a couple of bit roles in B movies and on TV,... Read more
